PORT VILA, 28th March 2025.  As part of its reform programs, the Office of the Public Service Commission has commenced a Performance Management Systems Audit of all Government line agencies on March 25th, 2025.

The OPSC has conducted an audit on Performance Management Systems and Processes to assess their efficiency and effectiveness since its implementation in 2016. They examine how well the systems are meeting their intended objectives and identify any issues or bottlenecks that may be hindering staff performance.

The audit period was for one week from the 24th of March to 28th March 2025.

Officers who were interviewed are from the positions of Deputy Directors, managers, principal officers, senior officers and officers within each department and ministries.

The OPSC is considering the performance of its employees, and the outcome of services provided to the public at large and whether the current performance management system in place is effective and measure results.

In collaboration with the Vanuatu Bureau of Statistics (VBoS), the Performance Audit team went through a one day-training facilitated by VBoS on the audit method. Apart from the training, VBoS has also equipped the team with tablets to use during the audit.

It fosters professional growth through constructive feedback, identifies areas for development, recognizes achievements, and enhances employee motivation. Additionally, it serves as a foundation for making informed decisions about promotions, training, and resource allocation, ultimately driving overall organizational success.
