Port Vila, 12 May 2026 – The Public Service Commission (PSC) wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the Honorable Prime Minister, Jotham Napat, and the Government for approving the hosting of Public Service Day 2026.

The PSC warmly welcomes the decision of PM Napat to host this year's celebration in Torba Province, recognizing it as an important opportunity to bring national attention to the province and its contribution to the development of Vanuatu.

Public Service Day is a significant annual event that celebrates the dedication, professionalism, and achievements of public servants across the country. It provides an opportunity to recognize the vital role that public officers play in delivering essential services to communities and supporting the Government's development priorities.

The Commission reaffirms its commitment to working closely with the Government, provincial authorities, development partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and delivery of the event. Preparatory work is already underway through the Public Service Day Committee and its sub-committees, with a strong focus on coordination, inclusiveness, and effective implementation.

The PSC is confident that hosting Public Service Day in Torba Province will not only provide a platform to celebrate excellence in public service but will also strengthen engagement between government institutions and the communities they serve. The event is expected to bring together representatives of public servants from across the country to share experiences, promote innovation, and showcase initiatives that contribute to improving service delivery.

In addition, various government agencies will collaborate to deliver targeted services and development initiatives that respond to the priority needs identified by Torba Province. These includes activities in key sectors such as health, education, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, community development, civil registration, and public administration. Through coordinated service delivery, awareness programs, technical support, and capacity-building initiatives, government agencies will work together to ensure that Public Service Day 2026 leaves a meaningful and lasting impact on local communities.

This approach is an opportunity to demonstrate the Government's commitment to bringing services closer to the people while addressing provincial development priorities and strengthening partnerships between government institutions and the communities they serve.

The Commission looks forward to a successful and memorable Public Service Day 2026 and encourages all public servants and stakeholders to support the preparations and participate in the celebrations. Together, we can honour the commitment of our public servants and reinforce the values of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and service to the people of Vanuatu.
