After four dynamic days of immersive learning and collaboration from the 23rd to 26th of September 2025 , the Building and Learning High Performance Team program officially concluded today at Ramada Resort, Port Vila. The program, hosted by the Australian Public Service in partnership with the Office of the Public Service Commission (OPSC) through VIPAM, and supported by the Australian High Commission in Vanuatu, brought together dedicated public servants from various government ministries to strengthen leadership, teamwork, and performance within the public sector.
Participants celebrated the completion of the program with a certificate ceremony, marking their commitment to personal growth and professional excellence. The training focused on developing critical leadership capabilities, fostering inclusive and empowered teams, and promoting accountability and purpose-driven service.
Mr. James Melteres, Secretary of the Public Service Commission, addressed the participants, encouraging them to carry forward the lessons learned. “This program is a stepping stone toward building a more capable and responsive public service. Lead with purpose, empower your teams, and hold yourselves accountable to the people you serve,” he said.
The program represents the continuing collaboration between Australia and Vanuatu, reinforcing a shared vision for a high-performing, citizen-focused public sector. Through initiatives like this, both nations continue to invest in the professional development of public servants, ensuring that government institutions remain resilient, effective, and responsive to community needs.
As participants return to their respective roles, they do so with renewed confidence, sharpened skills, and a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with impact. The momentum built over these four days will continue to ripple through the public service—driving innovation, strengthening teams, and delivering better outcomes for all Ni-Vanuatu citizens.
